For many students, this fall semester is their first time on campus. As COVID regulations have begun to lift, masks are now optional to wear. Everyone on campus is required to be vaccinated. There are more opportunities to have classes in person rather than on Zoom.

Journalism has always been a topic that interested me. I remember my older sister taking an interest when she was back in high school and university, and it always seemed like she was enjoying the thrilling stories that she would follow. When in high school, I loved to write -- still do, hence why I loved choosing writing classes here at Cape Cod Community College. My experience here at the college has been nothing short of wonderful in every sense, even if it was all online. I actually loved the fact it was online, although I think I may be in the minority there.

Fall 2020 I had Professor Kerry Drohan for English Composition when I believed I wanted to pursue a career in psychology. Nearing the end of the semester, Professor Drohan recommended I take his journalism course in the spring because of my “writing skill,” and I felt tears well up in my eyes.
