Meet incoming first-year students at 4C's
by Jacob Varney
Each semester, new students begin their college journey at 4C's.
Sandwich High School students Walker Davis, Brenna Franklin, and Emma Murphy are among those who plan on starting at the college either in the fall or next spring. Among their reasons: cost and location.
Davis plans on majoring in social marketing starting in the fall, but he may change his intended major before starting at 4C’s. Davis says that the community of 4C's helped him decide to go there because they’re so open and there's a good variety of people to get to know. The campus is also local, so it makes transportation easy for him. Davis says that he looks forward to a fresh start at 4C’s and is not sure if he will transfer to a four-year college after his time at the college.
Franklin plans to start at 4C’s in spring; however, she will not make a final decision on when she will start until she graduates. While attending 4C’s, Franklin will major in social media and digital marketing. Franklin says that she will “definitely be attending 4C’s for two years and see where life takes me after that.”
Franklin says that she chose 4C’s because she did not want to move away to college. She says that she loves living on Cape Cod, she is very happy with the people around her, and she does not think that moving away would be a good fit for her because she does not like change. Franklin does not currently have plans to transfer to a four-year college. She says she is just taking it day by day.
Murphy plans on majoring in criminal justice starting in the fall. She says that she wants to attend 4C’s for two years and then continue her education at a four-year college. Murphy says that she decided to go to 4C’s for two years to save money and be close to her family.
