Members Wanted for Clubs

Club Day is a way to introduce students to all kinds of clubs that are offered at 4Cs.This semester’s Club Day was held Jan. 31 in the 4Cs cafeteria. Each club had its own table, with at least one representative answering questions and looking for new members.

Economics Club Covers 'Realm of Opportunities'

The Economics Club's goal is to improve 4C’s students' knowledge about economics at multiple levels (global, national, and individual) and how it can be of use. The club has been inactive for a few years, but this year it restarted. During a recent meeting at the Grossman Cafe, the atmosphere was friendly, with good communication among members. The meeting mainly involved planning future events and discussing the club’s budget.

Kate Martin Delves into The Honors Club

At Cape Cod Community College, there are many clubs and extracurriculars that are offered that range from Anime Club to Dental Hygiene Club. Professor Kate Martin, in addition to teaching, is the director of The Honors Program and the advisor of The Honors Club. This week, Martin answered some questions about what The Honors Club has to offer.

Kathleen Dos Santos is one of the creators of the Bible Study Club, which was created through a discussion between her and her friend Thalles Winner about their church and their relationships with God. Dos Santos discovered the love of Jesus through her childhood in her Christian household in Brazil.

Students Explore Craft of Creative Writing

With the fall semester already on a roll, the 4C’s clubs have begun to take the reign on student life. Among them is the creative writing club. It helps students strengthen their writing as well as giving them a welcoming space. It is entirely voluntary to share one’s work, but those who do can receive constructive response from the club. The group mainly focuses on short fiction, poetry, and non-fiction with creative elements. The creative writing club meets on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:15 p.m.

The Single Parents Group at 4C’s offers single parents help with meeting their monetary, emotional, and physical necessities while finishing their degree or certificate.

The Anime Club

At Cape Cod Community College (4C’s), there is an Anime Club that meets at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays via Zoom or in MM Wilkens South 107. It currently hosts 7 members. According to Kathleen Fulginiti, the Anime Club Advisor at 4Cs, it has been around for 12 years and used to be one of the bigger clubs at 4Cs, but due to COVID-19, it has shrunk in size.

The Wampanoag Club as the Newest to Strengthen the Gathering Glint of Clubs at 4C's

At Cape Cod Community College (4C’s), some realized a need for there to be more recognition of indigenous peoples and their connection to 4C’s. The college was built on land that belonged to indigenous people, and although there was a plan to reach out, it was set back because of COVID-19.
