4Cs alum plays Rooster in ‘Annie’

4Cs alumnus Jeffrey Kelly is playing Rooster Hannigan in the musical “Annie” through Feb. 9 at The Wang Theatre in Boston.  Kelly studied music and performing arts at 4Cs, with his first role at the college being Banqou in “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” He went on to study theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.

Community Resources Day Set for Jan. 30

4Cs will host Community Resources Day on Jan. 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Grossman Commons Cafeteria, Building No. 7. The event will include information on the library, veteran services, tutoring and other resources offered to students. Also available: information on community resources such as the Department of Transitional Assistance, Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority, Independence House and Cape Light Compact.

Feast of Fear: The Horrors of Thanksgiving

With gore, mystery and an interesting story, “Thanksgiving” is the slasher movie of the season. The movie follows an axe-wielding maniac who terrorizes the town of Plymouth. The sheriff (Patrick Dempsey) is on the case. He talks with a group of high schoolers seemingly targeted by the maniac. Jessica (Nell Verlaque) is the most helpful in giving clues because she survived the most encounters with the killer.

‘Evil Dead Rise’: Almost but not Quite Groovy (Spoilers Ahead)

“Evil Dead Rise” is a horror movie, and that’s all I could say after watching it. It has the elements of what an “Evil Dead” movie should be, with all the blood, possession, and crazy scares, but even with all that, it’s not what I’d call a good “Evil Dead” movie. I can’t say it’s a bad movie, it just feels underwhelming in a lot of places, especially when compared to the first three “Evil Dead” movies. This movie has elements from those movies, but it doesn’t live up to its potential.
