On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Cape Cod Community College inducted its newest members into their chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the renowned international honor society for two-year colleges. Through 4Cs’ chapter of PTK, known as Alpha Upsilon Mu, students will gain access to special scholarship opportunities, career training and advice, national recognition for their academic achievements, and special notation on college transcripts.

The Performing Arts Program at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) will present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award nominee The Minutes at the Tilden Arts Center on their West Barnstable campus beginning Thursday, November 7. The comedy, penned by Tracy Letts, portrays a small town council planning its Founders' Day celebration. Filled with backstabbing, personal agendas, and pet peeves, The Minutes explores local politics and the tangible effects of attempting to rewrite history.

Starting this August, Cape Cod will bring nationally renowned experts to the community for the newly established “Cape Cod Speaker Series.” Modelled after similar speaker series in Boston, San Francisco, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard, the Cape Cod Speaker Series will feature national thought leaders speaking at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College throughout the year.

Cape Cod Community College’s Educational Foundation held its annual Evening of Excellence Ceremony in May, awarding $268,000 in scholarships to 138 students. Students were awarded scholarships for outstanding academic achievement, financial need, and campus and community involvement.

This April vacation the Wilkens Family Dental Hygiene Clinic at Cape Cod Community College will provide free examinations and cleanings for children ages 3 through 17.

On Friday, April 12 Cape Cod Community College and 90.7 WKKL will host the “2024 Cape Cod Media Conference” on the College’s West Barnstable campus. Open to the public, the Media Conference is designed to connect the community with careers and opportunities within the professional world of media and broadcasting.

The Tilden Arts Center and the Performing Arts Program at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) will bring “Bright Star,” a 2016 Tony Nominee for Best Musical, to the Tilden Arts Center on their West Barnstable campus starting April 11. Created by comedy legend and acclaimed banjoist Steve Martin and Grammy winner Edie Brickell, “Bright Star” is a bluegrass musical that tells the life of literary editor Alice Murphy.

The Cape Cod Community College Alumni Network is seeking nominations for the 2024 Alumni of the Year award. This prestigious award will be presented during the College’s Commencement ceremony on May 23, 2024 at the Cape Cod Melody Tent.

IRS Certified students in Cape Cod Community College’s Accounting program will be available to help taxpayers file their 2023 returns for free this season. Hosted through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, the College will have hours of operation available by appointment only every Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. through the April 15, 2024 tax filing deadline.
