Needles of Black History

For the month of March an exhibit was available for viewing at the Cape Cod Community College (4C's) library. This exhibit, Needles of Black History, showed many aspects of Black culture and history. “The birth of the ‘Needles of Black History’ was originally born out of the larger exhibit that my partner and I created while working at the Easthampton High School,” says Asher Hamilton, coordinator of student life and fitness. “The ‘Needles of Black History’ exhibit speaks to how needles weave fabric together to make a connection to the idea of wholeness.”

4C's Dental Hygiene Program Runs Clinic

Cape Cod Community College (4C’s) dental students are learning by doing, providing dental care, and helping the community in the process.The 4C’s Dental Hygiene Program operates a state-of-the-art clinic in Maureen M Wilkens Hall. Professional dental hygienists and dentists supervise students of this two-year program. During February Break, the students performed free dental treatment for children.

Q&A with Robin Joyce Miller

Those on Cape Cod would be hard-pressed to find someone who is more of a triple threat than Robin Joyce Miller. Not only is the Marstons Mills resident a resident artist at the Zion Union Heritage Museum, she is also a published author and retired teacher who taught at New York City schools and is very active in her faith.

The Anime Club

At Cape Cod Community College (4C’s), there is an Anime Club that meets at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays via Zoom or in MM Wilkens South 107. It currently hosts 7 members. According to Kathleen Fulginiti, the Anime Club Advisor at 4Cs, it has been around for 12 years and used to be one of the bigger clubs at 4Cs, but due to COVID-19, it has shrunk in size.

Perspective of an ESL Educationist

Professor Richard Norwood is an ESL educationist in Cape Cod Community College. He is teaching students who do not speak English as their first language. He concentrates on providing the English Language Learners (ELL) with the formal academic vocabulary and grammar needed at the university level.
