Project Forward Retail students are getting involved in the holiday season at 4C’s. They will be holding a Holiday Market featuring many handmade items such as baked goods, wreaths, plants, and more. The profits from this market will be added to the Project Forward Scholarship fund. The students have been working hard to get ready for this with help from their instructors.

Imagine a laid-back space on campus where you can chat about your hobbies and interests, work on craft projects, and take nature walks - all while socializing with your peers. All clubs at 4C’s, in essence, integrate one or more of these activities into their agendas, but they don’t quite accomplish it in the same manner as the Best Buddies Club does.

In front of me was a stage, which marked the beginning of the audition process for the college’s fall production of “Fiveplay,” a play about polyamorous relationships. I did my audition, and patiently waited for the results. To my joy, I was appointed the position of crew chief, the liaison between the shop directors and production crew. However, one day I was approached by the production director, Jessica Wilson, and was asked to sub in for the role of Keegan Dean after one cast member dropped out.

Let’s face it: Reading is an integral part of how we learn. Although technology is now at the core of the modern student’s academic career, reading continues to be a key player in information-processing. In fact, we are constantly intaking written communication without consciously realizing it – on the way to campus, we pass by traffic signs, company logos and billboards. On the way to classes, we walk by posters and flyers around the college’s buildings. Now, imagine the impact that conscious pleasure reading can have on learning.
