‘Fiveplay’ Promises to Challenge Norms

The 4C’s theater program is launching its new fall production with “Fiveplay.” “Fiveplay” is written by Erica Smith and will be directed by visiting guest artist Jess Wilson. A clever play on the word “foreplay,” “Fiveplay” is described as “an affectionate look at polyamory and the modern family.”

Candidates for sheriff square off at 4C’s

There will be a new sheriff in town soon. The current sheriff of Barnstable County, James M. Cummings, is retiring, and Republican Tim Whelan and Democrat Donna Buckley are looking to take his seat. The candidates took to the Tilden Arts Center stage on Oct. 12 in a debate presented by the League of Women Voters of Cape Cod.

The movie “Bros,” which you may have heard about through stellar reviews or heavy meme content, is a twist on the typical “You’ve Got Mail”-esque rom-coms we’re used to, by utilizing an all, openly LGBTQ+ cast.

Netflix’s ‘Dahmer’ a horrific hit

“Dahmer: Monster - the Jeffrey Dahmer Story” has been a big hit for Netflix, but it’s also had its detractors From Ryan Murphy, creator of “American Horror Story,” it stars Evan Peters as cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and Richard Jenkins as his father, Lionel Dahmer. The 10-episode show does a terrific job of showing Dahmer’s personality as a way of trying to understand him, without downplaying the horror of his crimes.

10 Tips for Success in Your Math Course This Semester

It’s 10 o’clock at night. You have a math assignment due at midnight, and you’ve been stuck on the same problem for over an hour. You’re frantically flipping through the pages of your textbook, looking up Khan Academy tutorials on YouTube, and hoping that some sort of math fairy will wave a wand, manifesting the solution. At this point, you may claim that math simply isn’t your strong suit and go to sleep – which may very well be what you need to do in this instance. However, the truth is that math doesn’t have to be one of your academic strengths in order for you to be successful in your course. Math success, in actuality, has very little to do with talent and a lot more to do with acquiring proper resources, tools, and strategies.

Students Juggle Classes, Work

Students at Cape Cod Community College have a lot to juggle. According to Patrick Stone, the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing, there are a total of 2,375 students enrolled this semester. Almost half of the student population this semester attend college full time: 651 of them, while 1, 724 are part-time students. If a full time student has at least 12 credits per semester, that adds up to an average of more than six hours of class per week.

4C’s Helps Immigrants on the Vineyard

Fifty Venezuelan immigrants arrived on Martha’s Vineyard in September unannounced. They did not have very many resources for their families, and residents of Martha’s Vineyard did not know where to house so many people. Cape Cod Community College stepped up to help. John Cox, the president of the college, released a statement explaining how the college is helping the immigrants.

Family Pantry Aides Students, Faculty, and the Community

The Family Pantry of Cape Cod at 4C’s is here to help make a difference for the students, faculty, and staff of the community. The pantry at 4C’s is the subsidiary of the Family Pantry of Cape Cod in Harwich, which provides all the food that is given to the students, faculty, and staff. Anyone who is actively a participant in the college can go and get one bag of nonperishable food per week.

How to Strengthen Relationships

Relationships are good things to cherish, and there are ways of strengthening them. To understand this subject, the Student Wellness Association teamed up with Independence House to create the “Healthy Boundaries in Relationships” workshop to teach about relationship boundaries and how they work. It was held Sept. 21st, in Frank Wilkens Room 105 from 3-3:45 P.M.
