STEM Starter Academy

Science, technology, engineering, and math make up the branches of STEM. For 4C’s students entering the STEM field, the STEM Starter Academy (SSA) initiative offers pathways to navigate the STEM field. Its main goal is to graduate community college students into earning STEM certificates, transferring, or entering the workforce.

As of January 2022, Lisa Gagnon has taken over a new position at 4Cs that combines the responsibilities of the circulation manager and the public services librarian, formerly held by current library director Tim Gerolami for ten years. Lisa Gagnon has nineteen years of experience as a public-library reference librarian.

2023 Trip to Peru

The 4C’s Funeral Program is traveling to Peru in 2023 for intercultural studies. But the trip is not centered on any specific major, according to Daniel Shea, professor, and trip leader. All majors are welcomed and encouraged. The 13-day trip will depart from Boston on June 7, 2023. All 4C’s students are welcome to join, along with family, friends, and significant others.

David McGraw is a police officer at Cape Cod Community College. His duties include providing serving security during campus events, carrying out arrests when necessary, responding to calls for police service, enforcing traffic rules, providing alerts to the administration and students of any threats in the area, and a lot more.

The Beauty of Dual Enrollment During COVID-19

Amid COVID-19 spread and struggle, the Massachusetts Department of Education has deemed it necessary and is requiring primary and secondary students to learn in-person. Schools are requiring faculty and students to stay in the school building for several hours a day, with a rapidly spreading pandemic, and this can cause students to feel stressed and increase their risk of falling ill with COVID-19. Although there are not options to go to high school virtually, Cape Cod Community College (4Cs), along with other colleges, offers a program called Dual Enrollment.

Perspective of an ESL educationist

Professor Richard Norwood, an ESL educationist, is teaching students who do not speak English as their first language, focusing on pronunciation of spoken and written English, as well as building confidence in students ability to communicate clearly and easily with native English speakers.
