George Vasvatekis of Plymouth Appointed by Gov. Charlie Baker to Cape Cod CC Board of Trustees

George N. Vasvatekis of Plymouth, MA has been appointed to the Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees by Governor Charles D. Baker. Mr. Vasvatekis is President of Northeast Advisors, Inc., a full-service real estate brokerage and advisory service with offices in Plymouth, Dennis, and Nantucket.

A South Shore native and former first-generation college student, Mr. Vasvatekis has extensive experience in real estate as Managing Partner of 1620 Capital, LLC., an award-winning development company, specializing in the restoration and adaptive reuse of historically sensitive and endangered properties. More recently, Mr. Vasvatekis has taken over the ownership and management of the Borsari Gallery on Route 6A in Dennis Village, a well-known historic property and intimate private event space. An enthusiastic supporter of the arts and theater, Mr. Vasvatekis serves on the Board of Directors of “On the Isle,” a theater company and actor’s colony in the village of Siasconset on Nantucket.

“I am honored to have been appointed to this position by Governor Baker, and I enthusiastically look forward to serving to the best of my ability,” Mr. Vasvatekis said. “I understand the importance of access to higher education and other developmental and workforce opportunities. Having served in elected office at the local level, worked in Federal government, along with other business experiences I’ve had, I will look to draw from my background to help advance the mission of Cape Cod Community College.”Vasvatekis earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Finance from Bryant University and is a licensed real estate broker in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He previously served as a Special Assistant to United States Senator Scott P. Brown and as Vice-Chairman of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School Committee.

The Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees serves the governing body for the College, responsible for long-range planning, financial resource planning, and organizational structure. Board members are appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and include one alumnus and one member elected by the College’s Alumni Association.
