Cape Cod Community College to Host On-Campus Events Celebrating Veteran Service

Cape Cod Community College (“4Cs”) will be hosting events during the week leading up to Veterans Day in celebration of Veteran service. Sponsored by the College’s Military and Veterans Services department, led by Paula Smith, USA, LTC (Ret.), the events will invite students, faculty, staff, students, and community members to recognize those who have served. The events are as follows:

Meet and Greet with Canine Companions (November 6 at 11:30 a.m.) – A service canine demonstration offered by “Canine Companions,” Bay State Chapter.

All About Our Flag (November 7 at 11:30 a.m.) – Commander Ray Tourville and the Honor Guard team of the American Legion, Post 188, from Sandwich, MA will demonstrate flag protocols including proper folding and demonstration of the American flag.

Virtual Hiring Event for Veterans (November 8 at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom) – Free virtual hiring event with VA Human Resources representative Stephen Martins, presented by MassHire. Registration is available at capecod.edu/veterans.

Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony (November 9 at 11:00 a.m.) – An on-campus celebration of Veteran service featuring remarks from 4Cs guest speakers and the playing of the National Anthem.
