4Cs Offering No-Cost Small Business Direct Access Training as Local Businesses Look to Spring and Summer Reopening

March 9, 2021

As Governor Baker eases capacity restrictions for restaurants, theaters, and other businesses, The Center for Corporate and Professional Education (CCAPE) at Cape Cod Community College is helping employers prepare by offering free training through the Commonwealth Corporation Small Business Direct Access Grant Program. In addition to the Management in Today’s Workplace (formerly Management Academy) and Senior Leadership Programs, which have been enrolling since September 2019, CCAPE has added Customer-First Service and Sales Academy and Step-by-Step Social Media Marketing to their lineup of no-cost programs.

All programs will be delivered in a remote format to allow for convenience and flexibility for employers. Sessions are designed for leaders, supervisors, and managers at all levels, as well as business owners, and programming focuses on some of the most popular and timely training topics, including:

  • Conducting a structured, skills-based interview process;
  • Leveraging tools to increase collaboration in problem solving;
  • Time management principles including identifying barriers to productive workflow;
  • Practical ways to grow your business including increasing sales, and researching new opportunities
  • Understanding cultural and generational differences and how these differences can affect communication.

“I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Senior Leadership Program and came away with a ton of food for thought as well as a wealth of information that I can implement immediately” said Allan Harper, Director of Copyediting Operations at The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc.. “Another unexpected benefit was the opportunity to hear from people in another industry which drove home the point that the organizational issues that we touched on are universal.”

Each program is a 24-hour (8-session) instructor-led live-stream webinar. Space is limited and registration is required. For more information, to register, or to learn if your organization is eligible, contact Program Coordinator for Corporate Education, Danielle Dupuis at 508-375-5015 or email [email protected].

The Small Business Direct Access Program addresses smaller-scale training needs by making training slots available in popular topics, free of charge, to eligible businesses. Businesses with 100 or fewer Massachusetts employees that contribute to the Workforce Training Fund are eligible to access free training through the Small Business Direct Access Program.
