COVID-19 Alert: Nursing application deadline extension to July 10, 2020
May 13, 2020As you are aware, colleges and universities across the country are actively responding to developments pertaining to COVID-19. Cape Cod Community College is no exception and we have been working closely with campus leadership to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students, faculty and staff.
With this in mind, Cape Cod Community College will extend the application deadline for the Associate Degree in Nursing program for Day option and Evening/Weekend option for admission into the fall 2020 semester until July 10, 2020. Admissions decisions will be sent out the week of July 13. A full description of the nursing program admission requirements can be found on the College website. Applicants who applied by February 1, 2020 but whose applications were deemed incomplete or denied, may resubmit their application and updated materials.
Additionally, preliminary acceptances will be considered for applicants who meet the minimum required prerequisite GPA of 3.0, but who have not yet met the ATI TEAS score requirement. Furthermore, unofficial high school and college transcripts will be reviewed for admission in lieu of official documents. Students granted preliminary acceptance would be required to meet the following to remain enrolled in the Nursing program:
- Submission of a successful ATI TEAS Score of 58.7% or higher by September 1, 2020.
- Submission of official high school and/or college transcripts and documents by December 31, 2020.
Preliminary accepted students that do not successfully pass the ATI TEAS with a score of 58.7% or higher and/or do not submit the required official high school and college documents by the deadline will be dropped from the Nursing program and will need to reapply for admission.
The prerequisite Pharmacology Calculations (NUR 100) course will be offered in Summer I for only students applying for Fall 2020 admission. To register, please send an email to Sheila Vaughn, Director of Admissions, [email protected]. This course is only available for students applying by the July 10th deadline.
