Robbins, De Souza Take Over Top Spots in Student Government
by Demetri Grevelis
Why did Student Government hold an emergency election in February? Elections usually are held much later in the spring semester.
The newly elected president, Kyle Robbins, who ran unopposed, said it was held because the previous president, Savannah O’Brien, stepped away for personal reasons. This in turn opened a vacancy for the vice-president position, since Robbins had previously held that office. Thalles De Souza, who ran unopposed, has been elected as the new VP.
“Overall, the election turnout was really good,” Robbins said. “We got more voters than we did in previous semesters.”
