The Elections Are Coming

by Thomas Schultze

Elections are coming soon, and the Student Government Association (SGA) has big plans for this month.

Nomination papers are currently being handed out until April 13. For those who are interested in running for office, a candidates’ Meet & Greet will be taking place over zoom on Tuesday, April 12. This will help prepare them for the Candidates’ night, which will also be held over zoom on April 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. The Candidates’ night will be recorded; The zoom link is https://tinyurl.com/3jj6wrc7. For those who would like to nominate themselves or someone they know, visit capecod.edu/sganomination/.

Once the candidates have been selected, voting will open on April 20 until April 21. Students will run for one of the officer positions: SGA President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Parliamentarian, and Student Trustee. There are also 14 open senator positions for anyone else who is interested.

The SGA has served numerous purposes and has benefited many students who have chosen to join. Along with meeting new people, students also learn valuable skills, such as leadership, public speaking, and how to run an organization.

Lisa Heller Boragine is the SGA faculty advisor. Reach out to her with any questions as [email protected].
