People deal with money uncertainties during global pandemic.

The Coronavirus has affected all of us in some way. We have never experienced anything like this in our lives and it is very scary. The virus is killing people by the thousands, in countries all across the world. Many homeowners are extremely stressed out and fearful of the magnitude of the virus. Money problems are a serious concern for many people who have been laid off due to Coronavirus and quarantining.
“It has been hard. I have so many bills piled up that is just making me anxious and stressed because I have two kids to take care of,” said Cape Cod local Yanel Rodriguez. “I am putting everything in God’s hands with this situation because without him I don’t know what I would do. This virus has become one of the worst events in recent history. I always tell my kids to not go outside, and I always stress them washing their hands because washing hands goes a long way of eliminating the virus.”
The virus has affected everyone no matter the age. Children and teens can’t go outside and play, adults are stressed over bills because some have been laid off and the elderly are the ones that are most at risk of dying because of the virus. But in a way, the virus has made families come together like never before. Due to the quarantine and kids staying home from school, families have a lot of time together that normally they wouldn’t. Families are playing board games, watching movies and are making the most of the time that they have together. After this experience, hopefully the people value family even more and not just come together when there is a crisis. This has a chance to be a real eye-opener for many people.
“I have been doing good, thank God. Thankfully my job wasn’t laid off so I can at least pay some bills. But this virus has really hit me hard. My mom is struggling and I am trying to support her but at the same time myself,” said Konroy Williams, a nursing student here at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs). “I am finding ways to relieve my stress. Meditation has really helped me through this situation, calling my family back home in Jamaica has really helped me as well, getting to see my grandmother’s smile pushes me through this.”
People have different ways of coping with this horrific crisis. Finding some form of activity can be a great help to not lose your mind and go insane while in quarantine. After this event finally starts to settle down, people will have a chance to understand themselves better and they can figure out how to keep that same closeness with their family that we are all feeling now. Money problems can be scary for anyone, but we will all get through this together.
