Students Voice How 4C’s Aides Their Academic Journeys

by Justus Canto

4C’s students have different experiences and circumstances to each their own. Students come here with goals in mind some more similar than others. Some come here after high school, and some come here later in life. Another thing some students have in common is they can take something away from their 4C’s experience. When asking the question, “what is your biggest takeaway from 4C’s and how do you think it helps you?” student responses were:

Liam Campbell: “Well it helps me learn new ways of life. I wasn't too sure at first as I got out of high school, but then I realized that I am starting to advance a bit more, so I was ready. There's still some challenges I must face however, with extra help, I am in good hands.”

Ben Chase: “My biggest takeaway from 4C’s is that the school cares about their student’s future and provides the tools to help everyone achieve their goals.”

Jane Stanley: “My biggest takeaway is that you have to be your own biggest fan. You have to make sure that you have yourself in your corner to get the support you need in order to succeed. There is a lot of help available. You just have to ask for it.”

Osanna Tomasian: “My major is Early Childhood Education. Throughout my years at 4C's, I have had an amazing experience with the professors I've had. I have enjoyed all of the courses I've taken, and enjoyed getting to know some of my fellow classmates… my overall experience at 4C's has been truly incredible and I have no complaints. Whenever I have needed help or clarification from my professors, I have always gotten the help I needed. The support(s) systems at 4C's are great, including help from my two advisors, the O'Neil Center, and the Tutoring Center…my biggest takeaway from 4C's would be the opportunities available for students. For instance, as my major is Early Childhood Education, there are various professors, teachers, and advisors who are extremely knowledgeable in the field of Early Childhood Education.”

Joseph Gonnella: “My biggest takeaway from Cape Cod Community College is that everyone comes in with a similar story and goals. Most people I have gotten to know over my last couple of years are either looking for a fresh start educationally, trying to save money, or working on a tight schedule. But every one of these people are extremely inspired in what they are doing and putting themselves in a strong position for their future. And it happens to be right here on the cape. I have been glad to be a part of this amazing group of staff and students. I will be leaving 4C’s with a strong start to my education.”
