Pizza, Ping Pong, and Mentorship Galore
by Shanel Joisil
The pizza and ping pong event held on Nov. 14 in the Grossman Commons, went beyond just being a fun gathering. Hosted by 4C’s peer mentors, it also provided students with an opportunity to discover resources available on campus and in the surrounding area.

Through pizza and ping pong, students could relax, and socialize. The informal nature of the event created a welcoming atmosphere, where students could feel comfortable to interact with one another and ask questions to the mentors.

The event was held in the quad area where there was plenty of room for students to enjoy themselves. There were tables set up for students to sit at while they ate their pizza, and there were ping pong tables set up so that students could play games with each other.
At the event, mentors were present to answer student questions and provide guidance. Peer mentors can be a valuable resource for students seeking assistance with various technology-related questions and concerns. Whether it's navigating the Campus web, understanding Moodle, or simply needing advice from a fellow student, peer mentors are there to help.

“For the longest time, I didn't have any advisers I could work with, and I did everything myself, so I don't want other people to have to-do that," says Kaitlyn Murphy, one of the peer mentors.
Jonathan O’Callaghan’s statement about being a mentor meaning his, “heart and soul to help students" reflects the dedication peer mentors bring to their role.
