Holiday Jobs Help With Financial Crunch

by Jenna Schmidt

The fall semester is coming to a close, and the holiday season is upon us.

The holidays can provide extra financial pressure for everybody. College students tend to be especially busy around the end of the semester, preparing for final exams and maintaining their grades. To deal with the extra financial pressure and to maintain their school responsibilities, they require a flexible work schedule.

Finding these jobs, especially those that require little experience or expertise, poses another challenge. Part-time and seasonal positions, mostly retail, stand to provide an answer to these college students' predicaments.

Old Navy, CVS, Stop & Shop, Walmart, and PetSmart offer part time positions and have weekend hours available. DoorDash, Instacart, Uber Eats, and Spark Driver allow students to make their own work schedule but require a license and a reliable vehicle. Newbury Comics, Sea Bags, Signet Jewelers, and the Shark Center Provincetown all offer seasonal or temporary jobs, so students won’t have to worry about schedule conflicts next semester.
