From the Editor: A New Era for the MainSheet

Welcome back! 

The 4C’s student newspaper, the MainSheet, is kicking off this semester with some exciting changes. They include new staff, online publication schedule, Facebook page and regularly scheduled podcasts.

This semester you can expect issues published online every other week. They will consist of stories written by the Journalism II team and Journalism 1 students. Editor-in-Chief Amber Rivard (that’s me), Co-Managing Editors Olivia Appleton and Olivia “Livvy” Williams, and Senior Staff Writer Ramona DiFrancesco are a part of the Journalism II team. Other 4C’s students also are invited to submit stories or columns for possible publication in the MainSheet. They should be submitted to me or MainSheet faculty adviser Tim Miller (email addresses listed below).

The MainSheet operates like a real newsroom. Journalism students put a lot of hard work and dedication into their stories. We also have a lot of fun during the process. Any student looking to improve their writing skills and collaborate with fellow students in a supportive environment may want to consider taking 4C’s journalism classes. Professor Miller's class has improved my writing and overall has made me a confident writer. 

Scheduled MainSheet publication dates are Sept. 21; Oct. 5 and 19; Nov. 2, 16 and 30; and Dec. 7.
