Clubs Providing a Proper 4C's Welcome

by Thomas Schultze

COVID-19 has put a dampener on living the true college life. Now that it is almost lifted, students have a chance to participate in events that weren’t available to them before. Club Day helped to promote the joys of college life. It took place on September 14 as part of the Fall 2022 welcome week lineup. Ashley Hamilton, the student engagement coordinator of 4C’s, organized Club Day. The event provided information on the variety of college clubs students can join.

Professor Hamilton said in an interview that the event's purpose was to teach students to get excited to learn about leadership and independence that will help them achieve their goals and succeed in life. They’re the types of things that can get them more excited to learn about at 4C’s.

New clubs have also been introduced, such as the Alana club. Talia Landry, part of the education department at 4C’s, partnered with Professor Hamilton to create the Alana Club. The club focuses on teaching about social justice issues and cultural programming and needs more members.

D.A.R.C (Discovering All Races and Cultures), Sports Club, Diversity Club, and the Janus Players have been introduced as new clubs. Students can take part in a stage play and learn about acting, drama, production, and working backstage in the Janus Players. D.A.R.C discusses diversity and social justice issues.

Professor Hamilton made sure to start the 4C’s welcome week with a bang.

“We had a terrific club day today,” says Hamilton
