VG: Inspiration to Many
by Madison Medeiros
Virender Gautam’s impact on this world went far beyond the Cape Cod Community College campus. Virender, better known as VG, was not only a great educator but also a humble friend, neighbor and community leader.
Willing to help any individual in need, VG dedicated his entire life to the betterment of others. He led both the college’s Rotaract and Economics Club and was an active member of Rotary Club of Hyannis. He donated his time and money to the organizations and even organized school trips to Haiti, Nicaragua and India for various humanitarian projects. His impact reached a global scale.
Whether it was composing a university recommendation, sponsoring students for club trips, chatting after class or aiding in networking opportunities, VG always showed up. He was beloved by so many members in the community. His club dockets were filled with guest speakers, all in which he invited to inspire and motivate his students.
VG’s wisdom surpassed that of textbooks and Dow Jones charts. He always gave people an honest chance and listened to their viewpoint without necessarily trying to change it. VG truly helped people see their own potential and invested in watching them succeed. He was about connection and exploring the depth of people.
Fueled entirely by his faith, VG lived his life with daily intention. He was a serene and sentimental man. He spent his precious time tending to his beautiful backyard garden, doting over his loyal pup and connecting with loved ones.
VG was willing to share the most difficult and traumatic parts of his life, ultimately making him the great man he was. He was honest and humble about his experiences and the hardships he had made it through. His family meant the world to him and he found the importance in honoring them. He even shared ceremonial space in remembrance of his late lineage with everyone at the college.
VG had expressed feeling the burdenment of attachment as a buddhist, but in reality, he had a tremendous amount of love to give, sharing it with the world. His focus and purpose in life never strayed from serving others with humility. He was an honorable man who positively touched the lives of many. Virender Gautam will forever be remembered for his lifelong devotion to making this world a happier place for all.
