The Power of Eggrolls

by Noah Fayne

I was fortunate enough not to lose power, but I am unable to say the same thing for my friends. The storm caused significant damage to the town's infrastructure, which allowed the power to be lost for several days in certain areas. I spent the better part of the storm helping my friends who were not fortunate enough to go without power loss. I mainly gave them rides to Wendy’s, so they were able to charge their phones and get hot meals as they do not own a car and use electric appliances. I also assisted my other friend by driving her home as she was in Quincy and her college lost power. She had no hot water or heat at the time.

The most tragic of all was that Cumberland Farms, which is the spot, also lost power. This was an extremely tragic  event as I was unable to obtain my eggrolls. I just got laid off from my job and all I wanted was the "Cumbies eggrolls" as we call it. The telephone pole that provides power to Cumberland Farms was snapped, cutting off power not only to Cumberland Farms but that entire section of the town. That area had no power for three days, meaning no eggrolls for three days. Who can live like that? It is barbaric, a life without egg rolls. Now that Cumberland Farms has power, I am going to go get myself some eggrolls.
