Kick Back at Virtual Trivia Night
by Jade Francis
As the fall semester is coming to an end, what better way to kick back and relax with peers and faculty than a trivia night? December 2, at 6pm, a virtual trivia night will be held for any interested Cape Cod Community College (4C’s) students.
This is not the first time 4C’s has hosted a trivia night. With two past occurrences, staff recognized that Thursdays seem to be the best day to gather participants for trivia nights. Hosting this trivia night will be the 4C’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and Honors Club.
“I had been playing virtual trivia from home with family and friends,” said Professor Kate Martin, who helped organize the event, “so I was super enthusiastic. I talked with the PTK advisor, Professor Rebecca Griffin, about our two groups sponsoring this as a continuing effort.”
The end of the semester can be a very stressful time for many students. 4C’s tries to host events during these difficult times to take the edge off as much as possible. Martin believes that taking a break and having fun can lead to students and staff being more productive. Students are given the chance to have some fun competing with new and familiar friends.
“It's not an exam that you have to study for,” said Martin, “it's just about random knowledge you may have acquired-- folks of different ages and backgrounds can all shine with what they know. Humans need to connect, and this is a fun, maybe a little competitive, way to do it.”
Teams are going to be randomly assigned, giving students a chance to meet some new people. Students and staff who plan to attend must register by December 1. Click here to register.
