Shark Mascot Raises Questions on Campus

The shark mascot image can be found all over Cape Cod Community College (4Cs). From T-shirts to stickers, the shark mascot makes its appearance throughout 4Cs, but what does it represent? Many are confused on what the shark’s purpose is, how 4Cs can better integrate its purpose, or should it be done away with all together?

4Cs Unveils New Science Building

For the past seven years, 4Cs President John Cox has been the front runner on the project for major, and greatly needed, improvements to the environment that 4Cs science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students work and learn in every day. Today, a year after the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) approved of the plans for the 23,000 square foot facility, the faculty and administration are sitting on the edge of their seats while awaiting the highly anticipated construction of the new building.

Vape Laws on Cape Cause Controversy

As Governor Charlie Baker’s ban on vaping takes effect across the state, nothing actually changes for students and faculty at 4Cs. Since September of 2014, the Board of Trustees has deemed the campus of 4Cs to be smoke free. This includes the use of electronic cigarettes and vapes of any kind.

Assault Alert Raises Concerns on Campus

An alleged sexual assault was reported to Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) Campus Police on September 3, 2019. Two students, who are reported to not be previously familiar with each other, are said to have been involved in the assault that occurred in the entrance way of the Lorusso Applied Technology Building.
