‘Challengers’ Will Leave Your Jaw on the Floor

“Challengers” is the most provocative movie I’ve seen this year. Surprisingly, there are no sex scenes in the film. It is a very tasteful look at what actors can do with on-screen chemistry. Some scenes I did watch with my jaw dropped or giggling. My inner dialogue was mostly: “Okay Zendaya, we see you. Maybe, those two mediocre white men are hot.”

“Bright Star” shines bright at Cape Cod Community College this April.  Directed by Vana Trudeau and featuring 4Cs students, staff, alumni, and members of the community, “Bright Star,” written by Steve Martin (yes, that Steven Martin!) and Edie Brickell is set in both 1923 and 1945-1946.

'Kung Fu Panda 4' a Letdown

Fans have waited eight years for the release of “Kung Fu Panda 4.” If you're like me, you eagerly anticipated the return of characters like “Tai Lung” (main villain), but only made a cameo appearance. If you're like me, you may be left disappointed. “Kung Fu Panda 4” follows the story of Po, the current dragon warrior whose main job is to protect the people of the valley. Po is faced with the next step of his journey, to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, a powerful sorceress has other plans and Po must stop her.

Trevor Noah’s “Born A Crime” is a memoir that includes the account of childhood under the careful gaze of his mother. The book contains Noah's experience being mixed race in South Africa, a situation considered a crime under the apartheid. As Noah struggles with the complexities of identity, he also celebrates his culture along with the freedom to be his own person.
