Shelby Meyerhoff: All Things Are Connected
March 27, 2024–April 17, 2024
Shelby Meyerhoff is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates painting, photography, performance, digital drawing, and other mediums. In All Things Are Connected, on display at the Higgins Gallery from March 27 – April 17, 2024, Meyerhoff brings together two bodies of work: Zoomorphics and Multiverses.
In Zoomorphics, Meyerhoff paints her own face and body and photographs herself as creatures inspired by the natural world. The resulting images draw attention to our relationships with all living things. Her works on exhibit span from 2017 to 2023, showing the breadth of her transformations in this ongoing series.
In addition, All Things Are Connected marks the exhibition debut of Meyerhoff’s Multiverses prints, which came out of her pandemic experience of turning to nature and imagination at a time of trauma. Both bodies of work explore the hidden connections between seemingly disparate things: between humans and other species, and between what is and what might have been.

Ashley Page: I Am A Choir
August 29, 2024–October 10, 2024
Featuring the Fall 2024 Cape Cod Community College artist in residence, Ashley Page, the works on view merge time, place, and imagination. A reflection of her lived experience and those who came before her, Page merges elements of American history, divination practices, and our innate connection to the natural world to fabricate dreamscapes of the African American consciousness. Exploring themes of colonial America and the reverberations of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, I AM A CHOIR untethers Page’s imagination and grants us the permission to follow along. It is an invitation for us to explore the depths of our past and understand the context of the time in which we currently live.
