Social Services

March 4–April 2, 2019

This project is a meditation of poverty anxiety, where it comes from and how long it takes to let it go, featuring the work of visiting artist Lydia Marie Hicks. It is also a reflection on poverty as a culture: what are the strengths we gain from this culture? What would the world look like if we could celebrate aspects of poverty (like ingenuity, vulnerability, and sharing) and also rid ourselves of the damaging aspects of poverty (like starvation, shame, and suffering)?
