Arlene Alves graduated from Bristol Community College with an Associate in Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UMass Dartmouth and a Master of Education from Eastern Nazarene College. Ms. Alves has been a registered dental hygienist for 25 years in both a pediatric and general practice. She also holds a local anesthesia permit L. Ms. Alves is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. She formerly taught in the dental hygiene programs at BCC and Mount Ida College before joining CCCC in 2018. She has experience developing curriculum, teaching freshman pre-clinic, freshman clinic, sophomore clinic, radiology and dental materials. Her current teaching responsibilities include Radiology, Community Dental Health and facilitating extramural rotations. She also teaches Radiology certification for Dental Assisting. She has lectured nationally on radiology updates, safety and techniques. Her memberships include ADHA, ADEA, CDCA-WREB-CITA consultant member and she is also a CDA. Her hobbies include balancing family life and health by staying active with a life centered on her faith, family, wellness and travel. She also enjoys celebrating new cultures, cuisines and finds cooking and baking to be a creative outlet.
